I know a lot of Skins fans don’t like the show’s endings. They have the slight tendency to kill off characters we love and also like to leave us with more questions than answers. It’s not satisfying in the way that a hamburger or pizza is satisfying. To me it’s a bit more like a really rich and complex meal that is small. You eat it slowly and savor it and while you aren’t full and sleepy when you are done you will remember it in the future as a really amazing meal. Does that even make sense?
Generation 1 Finale
A beloved character dies (I want to try to avoid spoilers just in case) and everyone pretty much moves on. Sid and Tony say goodbye and you realize they were in fact really good mates underneath the all the fighting (definitely a top 5 moment of the entire series). Sid goes to find Cassie and well, it’s left unresolved. We’re left with Effy laying in Tony’s bed with her mischievous eyes and you’re left with the loss of such great characters but the understanding that it isn’t over yet.

Generation 2 Finale
By far my least favorite finale of them all but it had one really good part. Yeah everyone meets up for a party to celebrate their friend who they thought has left town but actually was murdered. Cook goes to confront the killer and gives a chilling speech and you’re left with the hope that Cook made him pay for what he did to his friend. Fuck yeah Cook!

Generation 3 Finale
I liked generation 3 a lot more than I expected to. I was as skeptical as everyone else but I had high hopes since this show had brought characters like Sid, Chris, JJ, Cook, Mini and Rich into my life. In the end everything really worked out the way that felt right without feeling too forced. Unlike the other seasons this finale left you feeling like it was over, the kind of feeling like when your boyfriend breaks up with you and you know it’s over forever. To say I cried would be an understatement.

I will say every single finale gave me chills and goosebumps. Whethere or not they left you with good feelings, sad feelings or just too many feelings you were left feeling something. That is why I love Skins, it makes you feel and not every show can do that with so many characters.
